Would it be possible for me to get more than 6 books on hoopla?

Answer

We’re so glad to hear that you’re enjoying hoopla.  For those of us who love to read, sometimes the borrows run out before the month does – we feel your pain!  Unfortunately, the limit is 6 borrows per patron each month. However, hoopla does offer “bonus borrows” the last seven days of each month that do not count against your allowed 6 borrows; and each month there are “binge” passes offered for selected items that can be borrowed and do not count against your limit.  You should be receiving notifications from hoopla for these specials. If you’re not, check your settings on hoopla and your spam folder.

If you’ve not done so already, stop by the Devereaux Building and check out our leisure reading collection. These current print books are located on the Main Floor, 3rd floor, and 4th floor.  The items on the Main and Second floor may be checked out any day - any time at the self-checkout station located near the front entrance.  If you need help locating these great books, stop by the service desk on the 4th floor, and we’ll be happy to help you.  If you have suggestions for additions to this collection (authors, specific titles, genres, etc.), we’d love to hear from you!

Also, if you’ve not already done so, stop by the Rapid City Public Library (at the corner of 6th and Quincy Street) and sign up for a library card.  They offer some additional online resources that could help keep you reading all month long.
